Chef Michael M. teams with fellow culinary craftsmen, media personalities and performing artists to present SWEET CHARITY! “Pastry Tasting for Charity”.
New York City - October 13, 2009 - Since 2006, Comfort Zone Cooking Service has been committed, to providing delicious “North Meets South Cuisine” but also to ‘giving back’ to community by organizing charitable food events. CZC continues this commitment with its next event, SWEET CHARITY {Pastry Tasting for Charity}, December 13, 2009 from 5:30pm – 10pm. Location: 394 Broadway Floor 4 Tribeca New York. The admission price of $25 and a donated nonperishable item will go to supporting Food Bank For New York City. This event will feature local pastry chefs, giving individuals an opportunity to taste an array of sweets just in time to plan their holiday dinners and parties. It will also provide the participating chefs with an opportunity to promote their new businesses. SWEET CHARITY {Pastry Tasting for Charity} will be co-sponsored by the nationally syndicated, Initiative Radio with Angela McKenzie and talk show host, life and small business coach, and consultant Cory George.
Food Bank For New York City is a charity that works to end hunger; while raising much needed resources for the 1.3 million New Yorkers who rely on food pantries and soup kitchens to meet their daily nutritional needs. In doing so they are increasing access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers through a comprehensive group of programs such as direct services, food sourcing and distribution; also nutrition and health education that combats hunger and its causes.
Chef Michael believes in the reality and passion of this event. This he believes is the most sustainable, tangible, and substantial red carpet event that has immediate compact on our communities. This Event is a spark to the entrepreneurial spirit in a time of recession and job loss in the New York tri state area. Initiative Radio with Angela McKenzie focuses on the philanthropic and altruistic activities of corporations both for profit and not-for-profit, inter-governmental organizations, persons of repute and everyday people. The program also gives exposure to under represented artists of all disciplines.

We continue this commitment with our next event, Pastry Tasting for Charity, on December 13, 2009. Our vision is to create a platform to support local businesses in the New York area. This event will feature local pastry chefs, giving individuals and opportunity to taste an array of sweets just in time to plan their holiday dinners and parties. It will also provide the chefs with an opportunity to promote their businesses.
Proceeds and admission donations will go to supporting Food Bank For New York City, a charity who works to end hunger and increase access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers through a comprehensive group of programs that combat hunger and its causes.
Pastry Tasting for Charity will be co-presented by the nationally syndicated, Initiative Radio, with Angela McKenzie. The program focuses on the philanthropic and altruistic activities of corporations both for profit and not-for-profit, inter-governmental organizations, persons of repute and everyday people. The program also gives exposure to under represented artists of all disciplines and in an effort to consistently engage a youthful audience, urban and alternative music specials are presented on a recurring basis.
We are looking for talented local pastry chefs, bakers, still life, visual and spoken word artists, authors, bloggers, event planners, florists, singers and musicians, painters, photographers, perfume/oil creators and organic juice makers, small business also that conform with food; who would like to participate in this event.
